Yay!

Here are Sue and Staša!

Sue is a mathematician and can do lots of other things like organize unions and run marathons! Staša is an all-around woman of many talents and secret powers who organizes CDs and makes all kinds of good things happen. (She is also looking for a job!)

Everyone is happy because they are moving here from Philadelphia!

On Wednesday, they came over to meet little Zoë and make dinner!

Sue made spaghetti.

Staša made pesto!

Spaghetti is fun!

Staša taught Zoë how to eat spaghetti.

Zoë likes to learn new things.

Dinner was delicious!

This morning, Teresa came over to pick up Jon—and visit the Peanut!

Then Teresa and Jon drove here...

...to meet with this badass mofo:

(Psst--it’s just Auntie Lynn!)

Back at the union office, Shaun took some nice pictures of Daddy and Zoë.

On the way home, Rosie ran into the co-op to get something for dinner.

Zoë got excited when she saw Mommy come out and put the groceries in the trunk!

And then we drove home!

Laundry Time!

oops! technical difficulties

Fathers' Day

Today, we're thinking about our friend Ian, whose little boy Christopher was kidnapped this week in 1997.

Ian: we know Christopher's childhood with you can't be regained, but we hope with all our hearts that the two of you will someday be reunited.

Love,
Fergus, Jon, Rosie, & Zoë

Peanut works hard!

First of all, she gets up early in the morning!

Then she checks the blog to see if anyone has left any comments!

Then she plays with a wooden spoon!

...and other toys too:

(You can click on any of these little pictures to see a bigger version!)

What are all these toys?

Well, one is a little roly-poly magic circus cylinder that rolls back to you when you roll it away from you (!), and one is a book called "That's Not My Lion" which has on each page a picture of a lion that is not your lion (one's nose is too furry, another's paws are too scratchy, etc.)-- until finally you reach the very, very last page which has a picture of your lion on it! (You know it's your lion because its mane is so shaggy!) Also, there is a little pig-shaped book about a pig who goes around waking up all the other animals on the farm. Actually, all of the animals are already awake, except the dog, so the pig gets all the other animals to go wake up the dog by making lots of noise. Quack! Moo! Baaa! Etc.

Whoops! Where’d she go?

She’s heading into the kitchen!

Anyway, after a nice playtime in the morning, she is ready for a little nap!

The main idea of today's entry is that Peanut is a hard-working little bumble-bee!

And by special request, here is a picture of Zog and Squeaks:

Who Goes With Fergus?

Zoë has been crawling about like a—uh, well, like a super little baby who can crawl!

This means she can go anywhere she wants and get into all kinds of trouble, like chewing on extremely dangerous high-voltage power cords!

Just kidding!

She’s hard to keep track of, is little Zoë!

Mommy made the living room into a big Zoë play area!

Say, what’s that unusual vehicle on the left?

Well, it was a present from Zoë’s friend Jesse, who came to visit from Iowa with Gina (her mom). It’s a car! It’s a boat! It’s a plane!

It is very spacious!

From left to right:
1. The German Bee (author of the classic "German Bee Song")
2. Patrick the Bunny. Patrick speaks a language that no one understands (just like Zoë). "Še marõ 'ilogolaš ờy demararķa' ỹ še marathak ỹ pataran po ķalasaš!" says Patrick.
3. Wendell "Squeaks" Wilson, one (along with the charming Clochette Chambord and the loquacious Ernst "Clatters" O’Malley) of the strange craft’s friendly owners and a trustworthy captain indeed.
4. Jacques de les Pine, expert on Easter and other subjects. (What has happened to his ear? You will have to ask Fergus.)
5. Zog the sea-monster, who is really not as scary as he tries to be!
6. String Bean, a shy and taciturn vegetable.

They are quite the crew, don't you think?

Here is a picture of Daddy and Fergus going out for a walk in the rain:

Here is a picture of Daddy and Zoë cleaning up the dining room table:

Zoë is quite happy when her friends come to visit.

Jessica came all the way from New Mexico!

...and Zoë's friend Heather comes once or twice a week!

..also, Zoë likes to play with Mommy!

Good-bye!
