Pony Ride!

When we were in New Jersey, Zoë, Mommy, Daddy, Nanna, and Grandpat went on a big trip to…

…the orchard!

It was a beautiful fall day!

(Actually, it was close to 90º!)

There was a lot to do!

Look at the new puppy!

Look at the geese!

What's that one doing?

Look at the chickens!

Cluck cluck!

Horsie!

Look, Nanna!

Who's that?

Donkey!

Mommy is a horsie!

Who's in there?

It's Zoë!

Pony ride! Pony ride!

The pony's name was "Sweetie!"

Zoë held on all by herself.

Do you know what Zoë says these days?

"Zoë little baby, no. Zoë girl!"

Apple-sorting machine.

Apple, yum!

What a fun day!

A Trip

Two weeks ago, we went to New Jersey. A sad thing had happened: Alex's dad had died from cancer.

It's sad and strange when someone dies. There's a hole in the universe where the person used to be; at the same time, all the normal things keep happening.

On Sunday morning, we had brunch with Alex and Amy.

David was there too—and so were Mitchell and Jeremy (David's kids). When David went to the buffet, Alex and Jon took his camera and took some pictures to surprise him later.

Jeremy told on us.

Did you know that Mitchell and Jeremy have a blog too? Look for it under the "other blogs" links on the right!

Zoë had gotten a cool puzzle from Nanna and Grandpat that makes animal noises when you fit the animals in the right places.

After the memorial service, we went over to Alex's Mom and Dad's house to hang out for a while. There was more horsing around.

Mitchell and Jeremy are very demure young men.

David's a proud dad.

Mitchell says dad is top-notch!

Two against one?

What's going on here?

Time for a break.

Zoë's too little for roughhousing.

Time for the boys to get back to Connecticut!

Bye Mitchell! Bye Jeremy!

Wait! You forgot David!

Alex, Joy, & Andrea: we're so sorry about Dudley, and our thoughts are with you.

A few weeks ago, we went to a big furniture store.

In this picture, Zoë is putting her fingers in her ears and saying things like "Mommy Daddy Zoë!" because it is fun to put you fingers in your ears and do that because things sound different when you do.

Mommy and her friend Ann were looking for some chairs for their new office.

Daddy and Zoë looked around too!

Which one do you like, Zoë?

Nice and soft!

Good to climb on!

Nice for napping!

Ann likes that one.

Zoë says "Pick me up, please!"

Yay!

Zoë is tall!

Zoë also likes a good cuddle.

Yay!

Happy Birthday, Omi!
