Vacation Part III!
Just before the summer ended, we snuck in some more vacation time!
We flew off to Virginia to meet Aunt Sabra!
But first we had to wait a while for our luggage.

Mr. Higgins was there.

Mr. Higgins is a donkey of considerable means who has fallen on hard times. He made few friends when he first arrived as he tended to refer to Daddy and Mommy as "the help" and expected several of the other animals to wait on him too. Those misunderstandings cleared up, he now has been fully welcomed into our extended family of sheep, bears, doggies, kangaroos, and etc.
Mommy and Daddy were very tired because they'd gotten up at 4:00 to get everyone to the airport. Zoë amused herself by playing with an orphaned car seat.

Oops!

Yay! Running!

Daddy amused himself by taking pictures of himself looking very tired and bedraggled.

Ordinarily, Daddy probably wouldn't post these pictures, but Zoë thinks they are very funny.
Also, Zoë found some rocks.

Yay rocks!

It was dusk when we got to North Carolina. We met up with Uncle Marc and Aunt Sabra and raced to the beach!

Zoë sees a puddle!

Hurry up; it's getting dark!

Let's go!

The ocean!

Uncle Marc!

Yay!

Zoë likes the ocean!

(BTW, Spike the dog is known these days as "Little Daddy.")
The ocean!

Everyone was ready for a week of big fun!

Our big fun the next night was being taken out to dinner by pharmaceutical reps. Did you know Aunt Sabra is a doctor?
Zoë got all dressed up.

Zoë does not always like getting her hair brushed.

Look, there's Omi and Opa!
Here we are driving to dinner.

Daddy is a very serious driver.

Dinner was at a very elegant restaurant, and the food was delicious.

This is Jeremy, one of the drug reps!

Zoë liked Jeremy; he is a daddy too.

We forgot the name of the other drug rep, but she was very nice too.

Did you know that Uncle Larry is a child psychologist?
Everyone enjoyed themselves; thanks, drug reps!

We stayed at the same house we stayed in last year!

Hi Zoë!

Hi Opa!

We didn't take any pictures the first day or two at the beach, but we had a great time. Zoë likes to chase seagulls and play in the water.
Did you hear about tropical depression Ernesto?

It meant that we didn't go to the beach for a couple of days, but we didn't care!
It's fun to look at magazines in the car when it's raining really hard!

Picture of a baby!

Just like Zoë!

Yay!

In between the rains, we went to a little playground in a shopping center.

Zoë is a good climber!

Look at her go!

All the way to the top!

Also we did a little shopping.

Smile!

When it was time to go, the sun was just coming out again! Thanks for a great vacation, Omi, Opa, Marc, & Sabra!
